What is a digital sound music

What is digital sound music?

The computer produces digital sound. Thus, as said above, from the moment a laptop enters into the production of sound, you are in the presence of digital sound. If you record yourself playing an electric guitar on a computer, the sound will be digital. With the rise of computing in everyday life, most of the sounds heard are digital. When you listen to a cd on a pc, when you use an mp3 player to vibrate to the title of the moment, all these sounds are purely digital Music.

Finally, know that listening to these two sounds differs, probably due to the method used to create the sound. Indeed, unlike analog obtained by copying the sound wave, digital sound is produced by a process called “sound digitization”.

What is the difference between digital and analog?

Sounds perceived in their natural state are analog sounds. The laughter of your colleague, and the rain on your skylight, all correspond to analog sounds. The same goes for so-called “classical” musical instruments such as drums or acoustic guitars.

That being said, what about the recorded sounds? Are they necessarily digital or can they be analog? Well actually, it all depends on how they were recorded. Indeed, if during the sound production process, a computer intervened, it is then a digital sound. Otherwise, when a sound is recorded in the traditional way with a multitrack recorder for example, then it is an analog sound.
